Ministry Highlight for September 2024: Agape Church (Bulacan)

Agape Church in Bulacan province recently hosted a Men’s Fellowship where they decided to repaint the main gate of their church building.

We are deeply grateful for their generosity and dedication as they chose to give back to society through Oikos Helping Hand.

Instead of hiring painters and covering the labor costs, Pastor Rowena shared the church’s need for repainting the gate.

The men willingly responded, dedicating two Sundays to complete the painting, simply accepting free lunch and snacks provided as a token of appreciation.

A few years ago, we took a significant step by purchasing a piece of land in Bulacan to build the new Agape Church. This space was intended not only for worship but also as a home for families relocated from Smokey Mountain, Tondo, Manila.

Today, we are blessed not only with a beautiful new church but also with a thriving backyard farm that supports our community in countless ways.

Thanks to the generosity of our friends and sponsors, this small farm has become a lifeline for many. The food grown here is shared with our workers, beneficiaries, and staff, while some of the produce contributes to the meals served at Agape House and other ministries.

This effort exemplifies the timeless wisdom: “Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.”

Every Sunday after church, our dedicated workers prepare lunch for around 20 people using fresh vegetables from the farm.

Additionally, part of the harvest is sent to Agape House in Tondo, where it provides nourishment for the widows in our Agape Precious ministry. One of the most memorable moments was when we harvested a bounty of labanos (radish) and shared it with the entire congregation!

This small farm has taught us a valuable lesson: “Kung may itinanim, may aanihin” (What you plant, you will harvest). It has shown us the importance of planting with patience and waiting for the right time to reap the rewards. More than a source of food, this farm has become a sustainable means of supporting and uplifting our community.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our hardworking farmers, dedicated church workers, and generous sponsors. Your contributions have turned this small farm into a true blessing for all!

A Heartfelt Thank You to Uniqlo Philippines Ayala Westgate Alabang!

We are beyond grateful to celebrate UNIQLO Ayala Westgate Alabang’s 5th Anniversary! On August 10, 2024, 25 children from the Oikos Helping Hand Edufund Scholarship Program were blessed with an unforgettable shopping spree, thanks to UNIQLO’s generous hearts.

This day was about more than just clothes—it was about love, care, and community. We are reminded:

Whatever you did for one of the least
of these brothers and sisters of mine,
you did for Me.

Matthew 25:40

From a morning of shopping to fun games and treats, the entire day was truly special. Thank you, UNIQLO, for making a difference, for valuing every act of kindness, and for creating lasting memories. Your partnership means the world to us!
