Meet Mia Lorraine Pedragoza, an example of perseverance and excellence. From her early days as a standout student at Oikos Helping Hand Learning Center to her current status as a top achiever in Senior High, Mia’s academic journey is truly remarkable. Her recent accolade as the best in Practical Research with honors shows her hard work and dedication. Despite facing financial hardships as one of the poorest students in her school, Mia’s path took a positive turn with the support of the Oikos Helping Hand Educational Fund Scholarship Program. This lifeline provided her with a monthly allowance, ensuring she could pursue her academic dreams without financial worry and support her family with groceries. Beyond financial aid, Oikos Helping Hand offered Mia a sense of community and support that extended beyond material assistance. Volunteering as a teacher in the Children’s Ministry, Mia discovered the joy of giving back and serving others, showcasing the program’s holistic approach to support. Through her journey with Oikos, Mia deepened her faith and found strength in adversity. She extends heartfelt gratitude to her sponsors and teachers, whose unwavering support paved the way for her success and that of her family. Bringing Joy and Hope to Young Warriors!
Since 2009, Oikos Helping Hand has been dedicated to supporting children battling cancer through our Kids Living with Cancer program. Each year, we gather 40-50 patients for heartwarming events like our annual Christmas Party, creating cherished memories filled with laughter and love. Weekly gatherings offer a safe space for children and parents, featuring uplifting activities like Bible stories and games. Despite challenges, we continue to share God’s love, cherishing every moment and serving with dedication. We also provide practical assistance by purchasing handicrafts made by parents, with proceeds aiding fellow cancer patients. Our holistic approach prioritizes mental and emotional well-being, fostering a nurturing environment for these children to thrive. Join us in spreading hope and making a difference in the lives of these brave young souls!
